If you’re new around here, you may not know that I have a 3 year old daughter and a 5 month old daughter. And sometimes the fact that I have these daughters frightens me.

SOCIAL MEDIA: PROCEED WITH CAUTION

Sometimes I feel like this needs to be a disclaimer that pops up every time you open up Facebook or Instagram. 

Like... hey, friendly reminder: You're probably not going to scroll your feed and see photos of people's kids screaming with snotty noses or an Instagram photo of your friend and her cellulite.

Disclaimer: I honestly have no idea what I'm doing as a parent. My daughter is almost two, and I'm literally winging it.

Growing up, my mom was superwoman and if I disappointed her in the slightest it would break my heart. I looked up to her as a powerful, successful, loving woman who could do no wrong. I wanted to BE her.

Ever have a day that you think you have planned out perfectly... and then it goes completely wrong? I'm still learning how to deal with last minute plan changes like a big girl (type A probs) but this year on the 4th of July, things went way differently than planned. I took a deep breath, and went with the flow.

HOW TO BE THE PERFECT MOM

Being a mom is hard. Being a first time mom is SO HARD. This has been heavy on my heart lately... and I just want to say: To the first time moms out there struggling just to get a shower, it gets better. I promise.
