FROM MORNING TO NIGHT WITH NORDSTROM MADE // 3 OUTFITS

Today I’m partnering with a brand I’ve loved for years and years, Nordstrom! But this campaign is about more than just fashion and clothing. I am honored to be able to share with you what they’re doing and have been doing for a while now to ignite change in the world. Nordstrom Made brands are designed in-house by Nordstrom. What I think is really cool about this is that this gives them the ability to do even more amazing things with the money they make off of these sales.

7 SPRING OUTFITS WITH MADEWELL

SHOP ALL ITEMS HERE

Disclaimer: this post was paid for by Madewell, a brand I have loved since they extended their sizing. Any item you purchase from this post may give me a small amount of commission which helps keep this blog running. Thanks for your support for House of Dorough!

With Spring around the corner I wanted to show you some of my favorite looks right now from Madewell, everything is available from XXS-3X (unless it’s sold out in a size). Since Madewell extended their sizing a couple of years ago, I have always been a huge fan. I generally size up in this brand, because sometimes things can run short. I am 5’8, 250ish pounds (no clue really, bye bye scale) and an 18/20 for reference.

First Look: TOP (XXL) | SKIRT (3X) |SHOES | EARRINGS | NECKLACE

Body Image // #Unretouched

When I was in middle school, I started noticing little red marks on my hips, thighs, boobs and arms. I figured out they were “stretch marks” - and to my knowledge and feeling, nothing about these marks were beautiful. I spent the next 15 years or so ashamed of them. I would obsessively workout my arms and go to the tanning bed, hoping it would help. I’d put makeup on my stomach and thighs before wearing a swimsuit in public.
Guess what? At my thinnest and lightest weight, they were still there and I did everything in my power to try and cover them up.

LEGS // Body Positivity PP

LEGS. I’ve always been self-conscious of them but truthfully they were always “better off” to me than the rest of my body. I’ve had cellulite and stretch marks since 7th grade, and I can remember dreaming of having some sort of surgery to remove them. I would buy all the creams to try to erase the marks and dimples. Even at my most physically fit, I wasn’t happy with them. I am naturally “knock kneed” when I stand and always attributed that to being unattractive and due to my weight. See the 2nd pic - I used to see photos like that of me and cringe.

HOW TO SURVIVE THE SUMMER WITHOUT A THIGH GAP (VIDEO)

Ok, ladies. This might be a topic that makes you uncomfortable but I’m here to tell you that it’s a problem WE ALL HAVE. Well, most of us.

It’s Summer. For most of us, it’s hot as balls. Sorry, but, I really can’t think of a better way to explain it. Literally the other day I was standing outside and could feel streams of sweat dripping down the back of my leg. Beautiful.
