Listen --- athleisure is part of my daily uniform, especially now that I am walking E to school in the mornings! I have been on the hunt for athletic wear that not only fits my body the right way, but feels good and is functional. Today I’m partnering with Academy Sports + Outdoors to show you a brand they’re carrying, Freely, and I’m so impressed! I can honestly tell each of these items are designed to move with ease, almost like with an entire mom’s typical day in mind!! (Wait… did a mom design these? For real though!!)
Most days around here are nonstop, so having clothes to transition from my morning walk to Emmie’s school to running errands to diving into work to cleaning the house to back to pick E up (whew!!!) has been my goal for the past two weeks when getting dressed (at 6am!!) every day.
I had no clue Academy was carrying plus sizes now, which is so incredibly needed -- they even carry them in store! Everything I’m wearing in this post I was able to purchase in person, which is a rarity for anything plus size.
THE DETAILS:
The shorts and leggings are so incredibly soft and comfortable - I’m not going to lie… I’ve fallen asleep in them more than once!! But at the same time, they feel like they’re almost moisture wicking and I could do any sort of workout in them. Basically, they’re made of magic. These bottoms run a bit generous, and I suggest trying a size down. I am wearing a 2x in both, and as a pretty solid 18/20 I found myself having a lot of room. They don’t, however, stretch out… which is amazing. Told y’all, these pants are made of magic. ;)
I feel the same way about the tank tops and tees --- they’re so lightweight and sweat resistant, I actually feel like I could wear them in the blazing hot sun and barely be phased. I cannot stand it when I am sweating and the shirt I’m wearing sticks to me!! These tops run true to size, and for reference, I wear a 2x.
The sports bra is wonderful, I would suggest sizing up if you’re in between. For reference, I am a 42DD and the 2x fit me, but I would maybe be more comfortable in the 3x.
The sneakers are true slip ons, which, if you know me… you know I hate to wear socks!! I absolutely love throwing these on in the morning and hitting it!!
