Building a Capsule Wardrobe with Madewell's latest Plus-Size Drop!

It’s time for another Madewell haul try-on! If you have been around long at all, then you know I LOVE Madewell! I could not be happier with the size and cut of their plus size line! They are a go-to brand for me. They continuously show up and do the work in the size inclusivity space of fashion. They have begun hiring content creators with size diversity and are following through on their promise to continue extending sizes. They are currently offering up to a 4x & 28W with a commitment to be up to a 5x by winter!!

For reference, I am 5’8 and wear 18/20 (2-3x) + a 42DD bra size.

DETAILS:

Denim Jacket (2x) - Great fit! True to size. Has a tiny bit of stretch. Love the medium wash of this jacket. Denim Jackets are insanely versatile. This one checks all the boxes.

Grey Leggings (2x) - Ok. These are amazing! Super soft but still thick enough to stay put. Can wear these as athleisure or dress them up.

Seersucker Dress (1x) - The cut of this dress is perfect and it has pockets!! Highly recommend!Runs a little big so size down. If you are bustier, you may want to get your regular size (I am a 42DD for reference).

Black Shoulder Tee (2x) - I am seriously OBSESSED with this shirt!! Not something I would have normally picked but it is my new favorite. Great neckline and the cut is SO good. This is one of their items you can tell was designed using a diverse sized body or form. Love the cap sleeve. True to size. Soft but has structure. 10/10

Coral Leggings (2x) - These are my JAM!! Same details as the grey leggings. Super soft but still thick enough to stay put. Can wear these as athleisure or dress them up.

Plaid Blazer (18) - Love this so much!! I already have tons of ideas on how I am going style this piece. It has lots of stretch. I probably could of gone down another size. Would recommend sizing down for sure. This will be a staple in my fall wardrobe!

Black Flats - These are Emmie approved! She loved these so much and asked if I could wear them all the time. You really can’t go wrong with these!!

Demi-Boot Jeans (18) - These are amazing! Love the dark wash. They have a ton of stretch. Definitely size down.

Linen Blend Shirt (2x) - Fits great! Runs true to size. This is a great length. Long but not tunic long. Looks great tucked in. I was surprised that it didn’t wrinkle much even though it’s a linen blend. It’s super lightweight so it’s a perfect layering piece!

Distressed Mom Jean (20) - Always love distressed detail. I liked the lighter wash paired with all the deeper tones for good contrast. These are a little bit rigid. Would size up.

Lightweight Striped Sweater (2x) - Lightweight and super comfortable. Love the length and pocket! Runs true to size.

Oversized Pocket Tee (2x) - This runs really big!! I could have probably gone down 2 sizes. Great color for fall!

Tie-Dye Sweatshirt (2x) - Have already worn this a couple of times since I received it! This runs true to size. But, I would size up just to have a little more room in the hips. I love this color combo!

Midi Floral Slip Skirt (20) - This skirt fits great!! Always here for a midi length. Runs true to size and has an adjustable waistband. This is another piece that is crazy versatile! I could literally wear this 10 different ways! Would be great for business casual or teaching.

Cognac Mules - These are a great classic color and style! Can be styled with almost anything. They have a shorter chunky heel. Very comfortable!

Black Saddlebag - This crossbody is plus size friendly!! Really love the two tone strap!
