5 DAYS OF PLUS SIZE BUSINESS CASUAL WORKWEAR
My focus this week was on plus size business casual outfits, and I really wanted to share with you all things that are not only stylish, but realistic and comfortable. Would you wear any of these?! Let me know in the comments!
For reference, here are my typical sizing details:
Height: 5’8
Apparel Size: 2X
Numeric Size: 18W/20W
Bra Size: 42DD
DAY 1
TOP (xxl) | CARDIGAN (2X) | BLACK JEANS (18W) | SHOES | HEADBAND
WHERE TO WEAR:
Okay, honestly this could be any casual occasion, but I really felt like it works well for a business casual workplace, especially somewhere like a preschool or an elementary teaching job. I’d imagine you want to be able to move comfortably all day!
If you’re looking for a comfy, casual, work appropriate outfit - this is a great choice!! Wearing a pair of Madewell jeans - run true to size with good stretch, I’m in 18W. Wearing a Walmart tank in a size XXL and cardigan in a size 2X - the top is a Time and Tru v-neck tank from last spring (linked similar). Shoes are from Walmart and the headband is from maurice’s. The cardigan seriously feels like a blanket, and you’d never know it’s only $20.
DAY 2
BODYSUIT (XL) | BLAZER (2X) | PANTS (18W) | SHOES
WHERE TO WEAR:
This outfit could definitely be worn in a more professional environment, but would still be considered business casual due to the shoe and the top!
If you’re looking for something a tad bit more professional, but still want to be comfortable, this is a great look! I cannot recommend these pants enough. They almost have a cooling feel to the fabric! The color of this blazer is beautiful, and is for sure a classic that can be worn for decades. Wearing a pair of Nordstrom NYDJ straight leg pants in a size 18W - run true to size but do run long. Shoes are from Madewell but I linked some similar ones too! Sweater bodysuit is from Abercrombie - I'm wearing a size XL. Blazer is from Madewell - I'm wearing a 2X, runs true to size.
DAY 3
TOP (2x - SIMILAR) | SWEATER (2X) | JEANS (2X) | SHOES | BAG
WHERE TO WEAR:
Clearly, this outfit could be worn for any casual occasion but it fares well for the workplace because of the non-distressed denim and the classic, pulled together look it’s giving!
Wearing a pair of SPANX jeans 2X - these run on the smaller side so if unsure, then size up! These Spanx jeans are comfortable and work appropriate, available in sizes XS-3X (use code ASHLEYDXSPANX to save some cash on full price items!) The white button up is SPANX in a 2X - it’s nearly sold out, so I linked some other options as well! Added this cute Madewell striped fisherman sweater to add detail and texture to this look and I LOVE how it pulls it all together! Sweater runs true to size - I have the 2X. Madewell shoes - linked some similar as well! The tote is from ABLE.
DAY 4

WHERE TO WEAR:
This look is deemed casual because of the cardigan, for sure. I’d wear this as a receptionist or teacher!
This outfit is SO something I’d wear if I worked as a receptionist or at a desk where perhaps I’d get cold sometimes. These pants are SO COMFY and run true to size!! Wearing a cardigan from Walmart in a 2X, a SPANX crepe top in a 2X, a pair of SPANX pants in a 2X, and shoes from Walmart! This makes for a wonderful casual fall outfit regardless of where you’re going, but I especially loved the non distressed black jeans for a casual workplace look!
