THE 5 GIFT RULE // how we are doing gifts this season with our girls

Our kids tend to get a lot around the holidays because we have so much family, and this year I really wanted to be more intentional. Emaline likes crafting and doing artistic things, and Pearl … well, her age is really hard to shop for and I didn’t want to get her mindless gifts just because.

So, this year we are doing the 5 gift rule: Something you WANT, Something you NEED, Something to WEAR, Something to READ, and Something to DO. In addition to this, they will also wake up to 1-2 Santa gifts under the tree.

Below I’m including some of what we are getting our girls but also some other ideas for you!

SOMETHING YOU WANT

SOMETHING YOU NEED

SOMETHING TO WEAR

  • Pajamas - I love utilizing seasonal sales at places like Hanna Andersson to get cute pajamas that will last

SOMETHING TO READ

  • She Persisted - I LOVE the way this book reads and tells history of women persevering.

SOMETHING TO DO - this is also something in future years where we may gift an experience, but this year we stuck to simpler things
