Friday Five with Abbigayle // Five Small Women-Owned Businesses
Happy Friday!
On today’s Friday Five with Abbigayle, I am listing some of my favorite small and women-owned businesses. I am passionate about supporting small businesses in lieu of large retailers whenever possible. Small businesses tend to be more sustainable, have better labor and employment practices than large companies, and I love ordering the unique, high quality items that can be found in small businesses. Hopefully you’ll love these brands as much as I do!
ShopArq
I love love love this woman-owned, organic cotton intimates brand. All their main collection bras and underwear go up to size 3X as well! They also have sets for babies and youth, so the whole family can be comfy and stylish. They also have a wide array of fits and colors, so peruse their website!
East Fork
This Asheville and Atlanta based pottery brand run by a husband and wife duo is gorgeous, and they make a wide array of items, such as mugs, plates, bowls, and even toddler cups (which double very well as sake or shot glasses in my opinion)! They also sell a ton of other kitchen and pantry items, as well as cute planters, vases, candles, and more!
State the Label
This woman-owned label, based in my previous home Athens, Ga, makes small batch, handmade clothes. The designs are unique, modern, and ultra comfy, and they make their clothing for a wide array of body types.
Martha Stoumen
A friend turned me on to this wine maker, and while I haven’t tried it yet, their wines look incredible. They also do bottle clubs, and you can choose between 6 or 12 bottles, shipped twice a year! If you want to try a new wine, give them a shot!
Package Free Shop
Lastly is Package Free Shop. I am alllll about cutting down on the amount of waste I create, and this is a retailer who has taken zero waste into the online retail world, which is awesome! They sell everything from clothes to housewares, so if you’re looking for some staples and want to watch your footprint, head over to their website!
