Ashley started her career in fashion as an assistant costume designer for film & tv, where she spent almost 9 years styling and dressing actors of all sizes, ages and body types.

It was in this setting that she realized: body insecurity has nothing to do with size. All women (and men) have body image issues and our society has been so conditioned to be fatphobic.

Ashley has two children, and launched House of Dorough so that she could spend more time with them. Her main mission is to inspire those around her to live their best lives despite what they look like. She is also passionate about representing women who look like her, a size 18 - because they have been so massively underrepresented in the media for so long. This is why she comes to Fashion Week - to show her loyal readers that anything is possible, no matter what their body looks like. House of Dorough has only been around for 2 years, and in that short time it has grown quickly and authentically. Readers love her transparency most of all, but look to her for fashion guidance and raw motherhood. Her most loyal readership is on Instagram. She is also a top seller on RewardStyle for plus size fashion.

Her biggest feature to date was on CNN.com, where Ashley opened herself up to the world about her postpartum body. Read the article here and see the movement here.
